Blue iris webcast

Magicube Discover Best Windows 10 Apps. I'm really happy I found this. Blue Iris does not provide an official way of viewing the live feed and clips in windows besides using the web browser interface, but that's a horrible experience. Now I can remotely view my feed AND my recorded clips.

There's no sound, but i'm willing to deal with that. My only real complaint is that playback of the recordings is extremely choppy. But it gets the job done. Nice app for Windows. I rely on a similar app by a different developer on my iPhone and Android tablet, but they don't make an app for Windows.

This is a great app for Windows and is much better than relying on the web interface which is much more limiting. The app does not appear to support sound unlike my Blue Iris app on iOS. This is a nice looking app, but it's got a TON of issues.

It's a bit better running in IE with the ActiveX control. Running BI 4. There is no full-screen for a camera feed.

Blue Iris Companion

You have to always have the GUI up. When in a multi-camera feed you can't click on one of the cameras and have that camera go full-view. It displays hidden and disabled cameras, with no option to hide them. Playback from alerts doesn't work at all 6. Playback from clips works but is maybe 2fps. It should be using image settings from BI server. If the app loses focus completely another app covers it completely, even for a split second, the app loses everything and starts over when it receives focus, which means it ALWAYS goes back to the home screen.

What a bummer. It looks like a well put together app, but it won't work for me compared to the ActiveX control or UI2. Website seems legit. I would still tread cautiously. Only loaded a video stream once and it had a 5 sec interval between screen refreshes. Pretty terrible in my case.

7 Blue Iris Performance Tweaks

This was a great app, since I upgraded to the latest version of blue iris, I'm not longer able to play back recordings.User Rating: 3. The new help page network configuration and troubleshooting offers instructions on how to configure your web server for viewing on either the local network LANthe Internet, or both. Port number You should not change the port number from 81 unless you know what you are doing and have a reason for doing so.

Port 80 is actually the default HTTP address used by websites on the Internet, but it is often blocked by ISPs for incoming connections or is very difficult to forward through your router. This list is for reference only; it is not necessary to select from this list. When connecting, you will be prompted for a user name and password. In order to see Blue Iris via this IP address from the outside world, you are going to have to configure your router and firewall to allow access.

Again, see the page network configuration and troubleshooting for these instructions. If your IP address is " If the port number is other than the default of 80 that number will have to be added to the URL. If your ISP changes your IP address periodically, you may wish to use the option provided here to periodically find the new address automatically.

If you want to get a name to use instead of using your IP address when doing a remote connection, you can click on the Get a domain name link. If you choose to enable AuthenticationBlue Iris will automatically cause remote users' browsers to prompt them for a username and password. You may also use this feature to directly access your New and Stored clips folders. If I enter my web address into the Blue Iris Driver I can see my cameras when I'm on cellular but not when on my home network. How do I view my cameras when I'm home or away? Also are those ports open on your router for port forwarding?

I guess your question confused me a little too, it looks like on cellular, you can see the cameras? Would this be through C4 app or blue iris? When you put the pc running the iris program as the web address for the cameras, you can see them then on C4 or the iris app? If I want to see my cameras on the C4 app when I'm away, I need to go into Composer and change the address in the C4 Blue Iris driver to my web address xxx.

BUT, I have seen port blocking before. I usually use port with all our camera systems, and obviously open those ports in the router. This is in the blue iris software settings. Also make sure the LAN only box is unchecked.

You could also try a different ddns,DNSDynamic is a good one, also I have seen some people say that they had trouble with longer DDNS addresses and changing it to a different, shorter one, it fixed the problem. Everything you listed is done. I'm not exactly sure when this started. I rarely view my cameras through the C4 app but I know it was working on 2.

I'm not sure if it was ever working on 2. In control4 do you have the check box for external access checked? Uncheck that. You are using an internal IP so it's not publicly accessible. Changeing the ips Or unchecking The publically available box likely does nothing without a navigator refresh.

Your best bet is using a wan address and checking publically available, and then trying to get your router to behave. This of course assumes that you are using a ddns service, and have the router acting as your dns proxy Also, easiest way to test that your IP address issue is working, is outside of c4, on a basic browser, fix it there first. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Set C4 Blue Iris driver ip address to local pc, unchecked public access and refreshed navigator.

The only issue now is the speed of viewing. It's almost unusable. A lot of freezing and image jumping. But at least its working? There are two possible factors for this problem.

Firstly, there is no port mapping for the cameras. As we know, the camera requires port mapping for remotely access from the Internet WAN.

To solve this problem, you just need to log in your local router, and enable port mapping for the camera in the virtual server menu.Make sure you go into each camera's properties and in the Webcast tab reduce the Jpeg quality and scale until the Jpeg size is around 50KB in order to have a smooth playback. This app does NOT support sound.

Of course, a positive Store review is always welcome.
